  • Each year in the US, tobacco kills more people than AIDS, murder, suicide, alcohol, drug abuse, car crashes and fire combined!
  • Nicotine, the stimulant in tobacco, is more addictive than cocaine or heroin.
  • In the US each year, smoking causes more than 400,000 deaths.  In other words, on average 1200 people die daily from tobacco related diseases.
  • Smoking costs our nation more than $50 billion in direct medical expenditures each year.
  • Smoking is the single most preventable cause of death and disease.
  • Tobacco is the only product that when use exactly as intended causes addition and disease and kills the customer.

Project Team(Tobacco Education and Management)

Project TEAM's focus is prevention and reduction of youth tobacco uses, reduction of youth tobacco use among pregnant women, reduction of tobacco use among minority and regional populations and smoking cessation.

Project TEAM is funded by the Ohio Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Foundation.
